The Egyptology PGR Community is a network for postgraduate researchers based at universities across the UK.

The Community aims to bring these researchers together to:

• Network with others in the same field

Upcoming event

Birmingham Egyptology is excited to continue its involvement with the Egyptology PGR Community with the second annual event.

This event will take place on 3 May 2024, with panels on:

• Getting to grips with publishing
• Presenting your research
• ‘The Final Countdown’: Submitting your thesis and afterwards

History

The Community’s inaugural event took place on 26 May 2023 at the University of Birmingham, bringing together researchers to learn about:

• ‘Dealing with Data: Grappling with non traditional data’

• ‘Speaking from experience – tales from the other side: What went well and what we wish we did differently during our PhD’

• ‘Everything But the Thesis: Everything else you should be doing whilst working on your thesis (e.g. presenting, publishing, etc)’.

There will also be ample opportunities for networking and socialising.
