Join Collections Access Manager Dr Ken Griffin for a virtual tour of the Egypt Centre, Swansea. This museum is home to the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts in Wales, as well as being home to a plethora of material from the ancient world.
In this virtual session, Ken will give us an overview of the highlights of the two galleries, the House of Death and the House of Life, as well as a look behind the scenes at some of the treasures still in storage – Ken will often take requests for specific objects people are interested in viewing, so please check out the Egypt Centre’s online catalogue https://egyptcentre.abasetcollections.com/ to prepare!
This event is a virtual event only. Places can be booked at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/egypt-centre-virtual-tour-hosted-by-birmingham-egyptology-tickets-312878055687
The tour will be moderated by Birmingham Egyptology, a society that brings current postgraduates together with alumni, other students and academics associated with University of Birmingham, and members of the public to work on a variety of projects.
