I was born in Henan Province, China. I got my Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from Hainan University, China. During college period, I focused on the research of Marine actinomycetes, at that time, I realized that I had a strong interest in Proteomics and Molecular Biology. So I went to Shanghai for further step research of proteomics at Fudan University and received my master degree of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. During the three-year master study, I focused on developing new proteomics methods, especially in the fields of quantitative proteomics and positional proteomics. After the master’s degree, I worked at School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiaotong University as a technician. In there, I had access to many disease samples, and learned how to use proteomics to solve disease problems, and I realized that I wanted to do a PhD.
The TAPAS EJD-ITN has provided me with an opportunity to continue my research. During the first 8 months, I will be at the Leibniz-Institut Fur Analytische Wissenschaften-ISAS, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Albert Sickmann. Then I will move to Maastricht University, Netherland for one year under the supervision of Prof. Johan Heemskerk and Prof. Hugo ten Cate. The third year, I will study at University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain for 8 months under the supervision of Dr. Ángel García. In the last 8 months, I will return to Leibniz-Institut Fur Analytische Wissenschaften-ISAS, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Albert Sickmann.
The aim of my TAPAS project is to develop novel techniques to study the role of glycoprotein receptor clustering in thrombosis. So I will use Chemical crosslinking to determine and quantify contact sites between glycoprotein receptors, temporal resolved monitoring of glycoprotein receptor clustering using custom-build microfluidic devices, and determine receptor kinetics and downstream signaling processes during modulation of receptor clustering.
