In order to carry out the research project named above, we will need to collect information about you/your child/your school (as relevant), and some of this information will be personal data. Under data protection law, we have to provide you with very specific information about what we do with your data and about your rights. Who is the Data Controller?
The University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TT is the data controller for the personal data that we process in relation to you.
What data are we processing and for what purpose will we use it?
We will collect and process your and/or your child’s and/or your school’s personal data to conduct the research project, as explained in the Participant Information Sheet you will have received.
What is our legal basis for processing your data?
The legal justification we have under data protection law for processing your personal data is that it is necessary to do so for our research, which is a task we carry out in the public interest. These data will not be used to make decisions about you/you or your child/your school.
How long will my/my child’s personal data be kept?
Your data will be retained for 10 years after the conclusion of the project, i.e., 2035.
Are changes made to this webpage?
This privacy notice is effective from 1st September 2022 and is reviewed when necessary. Any changes will be published here.
