A CRISPR/Cas9 based gene editing platform will be established (in Würzburg) to test basic mechanisms of early ITAM receptor signalling steps identified within the TAPAS consortium; and to validate targeting strategies to modulate the function of these receptors in vivo (Würzburg) and in vitro (Maastricht). This ambitious project will combine state-of-the-art gene editing technology and in-depth biochemical and cell biological studies on platelet receptor functions from single cell to whole body.
