I am delighted to be on the leadership team for IMPACT. As a social researcher and evaluator by background, I know first-hand that good evidence can drive better decision and improve outcomes, but we have not always been good at using evidence in adult social care. I think IMPACT can led a step change in the adoption and use of evidence to drive the development of better social care across England.
I am a researcher and evaluator by background, and am currently Deputy Chief Executive of the Social Care Institute for Excellence, a charity and improvement agency dedicated to evidence based improvement to adults and children’s social care.
My main responsibilities at SCIE are to lead our policy work, business development and strategic projects for the Department for Health and Social Care including the Social Care Innovation Network and our work to support the sector during COVID-19.
Passionate about research, I am on the National Advisory Group for School for Social Care Research and am research director for the Commission on the Role of Housing in the Future of Care and Support.
Before arriving at SCIE, I was Director of Research at the OPM Group, an employee owned research organisation and consultancy. Before joining OPM, Ewan worked as a researcher for the Rt Hon Tessa Jowell MP. I was educated at the London School of Economics and Warwick University.
