Luke Geoghegan is Head of Policy and Research at the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) the professional association for social work and social workers. A qualified social worker, Luke says:
The delivery of adult care services impacts on all of us sooner or later: many of us need support (if not now later), many of us are carers, many of us are reliant on (diminishing) public sector services, many of us have to pay directly for care, and many of us struggle to make sense of the fragmented and shifting situation that currently makes up adult care. There is a desperate need to share practical knowledge and expertise both for individuals and the common good. That’s why I’m excited about IMPACT – it provides an opportunity to ‘bottle’ the knowledge, expertise and good practice which is not widely available but is out there but and share it across all communities. I look forward to the task ahead!
