ACT5: The Law and Economics of EU External Trade






Dear colleagues and other interested persons,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the fifth training course of our network: ACT5: The Law and Economics of European Union (EU) External Trade.

The first day will start with two on the basics of EU Law (lead by Professor Martin Trybus) and of Economics (lead by Doctor Sami Bensassi), highlighting the interdisciplinary of the Marie Curie Network on EU Trade and Investment Policy, followed by an introduction to EU Common Commercial Policy and its tools, chaired by Professor Roberto Caranta.

The second day will begin with a roundtable on the Life after Brexit chaired by Professor Martin Trybus (University of Birmingham), Professor Elaine Fahey (University of London, City) and Professor Jeffrey Kenner (University of Nottingham School of Law), followed by a session on ‘Selected Issues in EU external trade’. The afternoon session will focus on environmental standards in EU trade and investment agreements and on International dispute settlement in EU trade and investment agreements related issues. The day will be ending with a brainstorming session lead by Professor Fabian Amtenbrink.
