Sarah Palin: North Korean Missile Launch A Reminder To Work On ‘Energy Independence’ and Obama’s appeasement to Muslim World.

The death of North Korea tyrant Kim Jong Il has elicited a variety of responses from political figures on this hemisphere. Tonight on Follow the Money, Sarah Palin weighed in on both the death of the dictator and the missile launch shortly after in North Korea, and told host Eric Bolling she saw the danger as a reminder that America must focus on being secure, which means “energy independence” and “solvency with our economy.”

She also noted the short-range missile recently fired under the new leadership of the young and seemingly equally-unstable Kim Jong Un, describing it as “a firing shot across the bow to show the rest of the world that ‘we’re still here.’” To Palin, this was a reminder to be “wise in our foreign policy decisions,” and to take steps “for America to be secure, and that comes back to energy independence, that comes back to solvency with our economy… to make sure that we’re not reliant on other countries.” She concluded that America must make sure to continue “sweeping our own porch.”

These last comments concerned Bolling in light of the leadership of President Obama, “who has been apologetic towards the Muslim world,” particularly with Iran. “If [Kim Jong Un] is playing war games the first day in office,” Bolling argued, that was not a good sign, and “maybe it’s time to get a tougher president.” Palin replied in the affirmative, making the argument that the President had said as a candidate that he was open to talks with rogue nations, and that should have been a sign then that his policies would be what they are.

Reality TV Goes Where Football Meets the Hijab

“All-American Muslim,” the latest from TLC (the channel behind “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”), starting Sunday night: “Through these families and their diverse experiences, we will explore how they blend their values and traditions with everyday life in America.” The author Reza Aslan, whose media entertainment company, BoomGen Studios, has been helping TLC with publicity, calls it “a groundbreaking, intimate look inside the lives of a group of Muslim families in Dearborn, Mich., who are struggling with the everyday issues that all families deal with.” He adds, “Except they are doing it at a time of unprecedented anti-Muslim hysteria in America.”

The new TLC show, ‘All-American Muslim,’ offers up plenty of characters for a look at the everyday lives of a community much the same as any other.

TLC orders ‘All-American Muslim’ reality series

TLC — the network of “Freaky Eaters,” “Hoarding: Buried Alive,” “Extreme Couponing” and “19 Kids and Counting” — announced Thursday it is going to do a reality series it promises will be a compassionate look at what it’s like to be Muslim in America, called “All-American Muslim.”
Call it “Muslim Modern Family.”

Cable channel TLC is hoping to do for Muslims what it did for polygamists and Sarah Palin — put a new spin on controversial subjects that people often make judgments about without knowing the whole story.

The reality show “All-American Muslim” will follow the lives of five Muslim American families, some of whom are related, who reside in Dearborn, Mich., a suburb of Detroit that has a large Muslim population. The show will debut in late November.

Peace-Seeking Muslims Should “Refudiate” Sarah Palin

By JEFFREY GOLDBERG

Sarah Palin has called on “peace-seeking Muslims” to “refudiate” plans by the The Cordoba Initiative, a Muslim organization, to build a mosque and community center near the site of Ground Zero. After someone alerted her to the fact that “refudiate” isn’t actually a word, she deleted the original tweet and sent out two more: “Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real,” and, “Peace-seeking Muslims, pls understand, Ground Zero mosque is UNNECESSARY provocation; it stabs hearts. Pls reject it in interest of healing.”
