First Spanish halal consumer association launched

For the first time, Muslims living in Spain have an association to defend their rights as consumers. Spain’s first halal consumer association, called _Vida Halal’ (Halal Living), headquartered in Cordoba with offices in Madrid and Barcelona, is hoping to ensure that consumers have access to Islamically permissible food. The secular and non-profit Vida Halal is also hoping to reach consumers via it’s website, located at The organizations chairman, Kamila Toby, cites the importance of the organization in light of the lack of labeling on many foods and products in Spain.
