This project seeks to understand the socioeconomic and cultural impact of plastic waste along the shorelines of Southeast Asia. It engages regional NGOs currently involved in plastic waste collection and campaigning.

Mattias Hjort is a political scientist with interests including climate governance, international development and sustainable development.

His current project looks at UNFCCC climate negotiations and specifically the development of rules for forest-based carbon offsetting schemes, such as REDD+.
